Product Description:

Fresh Egyptian tomatoes are firm, juicy fruits with a bright red color, balanced flavor and good firmness for fresh-market handling. They are carefully harvested, sorted and graded according to size, maturity and buyer requirements for retail, foodservice and wholesale markets. Egyptian export programs include round, plum/Roma, vine and cherry types.

Available in different calibers and maturity stages according to destination and buyer requirements. Commercial export specifications can include approximately 47–57 mm, 57–67 mm and 67–82 mm.

Packaging:

5 kg single-layer cartons, 6–7 kg open-top cartons, plastic crates or other export packaging according to destination and buyer requirements.
Cherry tomatoes can also be supplied in 250 g or 500 g clamshell/punnet formats, with customized packing available for retail programs.

Availability / Season:

October to June, with the main export window generally concentrated during the cooler months. Availability varies by variety, production system and growing region; some Egyptian export programs report October–March, while staggered production can extend supply into spring.
